Hello all, and thank you for visiting my blog.

I created this blog to dive deeper into the lore and complex philosophies of the Dune universe. My goal is to create blog posts that are short(ish) and easy to read, and that can be enjoyed by both casual and avid fans of Dune. When reading the Dune books, I often find myself confused by Frank Herbert’s more complex passages on political philosophies and religion. Writing out and further exploring these confusing passages helps me to understand his writings, so I hope that by starting this blog, I will come to understand and appreciate Frank Herbert’s writing even more

One of my favorite things about the Dune series is how every chapter begins with a quote. These quotes are amongst my favorites out of all the literary works I’ve read, and yet, I seldom see them being discussed or even acknowledged. They are never even acknowledged within the series themselves, but they serve as an awesome method of world-building. On my Musings page, I’d like to list some of my favorite pre-chapter quotes and give them some of the appreciation they deserve in more informal posts. In anticipation of the Max series Dune: Prophecy coming out on November 19th, I’ll be releasing blog posts that explore our current knowledge of the Bene Gesserit.

As a disclaimer, I have read the six original Dune books written by Frank Herbert, so some of the blog posts I write will contain spoilers for the book series. I have not read any of the books written by his son Frank Herbert or Kevin J. Anderson, because I believe that they are not as good as the original books…. However, I am actively trying to get through the book Sisterhood of Dune in an effort to understand Dune: Prophecy, which the show is based on.

As always, I would greatly appreciate any feedback or suggestions on what I should write about next!
